With a background in business and music, Lou Works is entirely self taught in woodworking.  When he is not performing as a drummer/percussionist, Mr. Works crafts his unique wood pieces in his woodworking studio which he constructed in 1991. He was recently commissioned to duplicate wood boxes that were originally produced by the great shops of Carl Faberge.

I particularly like wood, because of its warmth and texture and the way it comes alive when the highly figured woods are oiled and buffed. I feel that as the world continues to become more modern and high tech, people naturally thirst to touch a thing of beauty made by hand and  of natural materials.
