Karen Linduska

Illinois
MFA Fiber Arts, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL
Since very young, Karen Linduska was always making something whether it was knitting, sewing doll clothing, doing beadwork or embroidery. Karen considers herself lucky to have had an art teacher with a fiber arts background who encouraged Karen to explore her interest with fiber. In college at the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Karen studied fiber arts under M. Joan Lintault. It was in college that Karen created the foundation of her style.
Today, Karen starts her work with a painted background using acrylic paints, stamps, inks, pencils and markers to lay her foundation. She then continues to the highly detailed thread work with sometimes thirty to fifty layers of different colored thread and stitches.
