Lasting Impressions
Exhibit Archives
![]() October 1-31 In October, our artists address the importance of beauty, spirituality, and the fragility of life. Scott Hill's brooding landscapes often represent a lone figure against a larger than life world. The richness and texture of his oil paintings through a process of glazing are at once old-fashioned and sophisticated. Richard Painter emphasizes the endurance of his seemingly delicate subjects. Using charred wood as a medium, he channels the basic element of fire to create imagery ranging from insects to traditional still lifes. Through painting, artist Carl Linstrum, examines family history, significant life experiences, and the function of memory. While the foundation of his work is beauty, the various symbols or images he presents are motivated by a desire for a deeper meaning and communicate through visual means. Whether the mood is evoked through aggressively burnt wood or subtly painted layers, our October exhibit is sure to leave a lasting impression.
