A Closer Look
Exhibit Archives
![]() Opening Reception: Saturday, September 13th 6:30-8:00 pm Our September artists focus on the details of our daily surroundings while inviting us to take a closer look at the world around us. Through their personal and spiritual experience with nature, they seek a connection with something beyond everyday life. Jane Bloodgood-Abrams conveys the mystery and essence of her surroundings through her landscape paintings. Her works are an act of rejuvenation created through her quest for a more intimate union with the land. D. Langford Kuhn finds inspiration as close as the pond across the way. The lushness and wildness of the region serves as fertile ground for her imagination. Her hand-painted porcelain vessels celebrate the visual opulence of life in nature. Brook Marks-Swanson finds beauty in the imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. Her work is influenced by the subtleties of mid-western landscapes, using aerial views of the land to provide color, texture, and composition.
